New Year Resolutions For Your Blog

Happy New Year to you all! I know I am [more than] a few days late but I was putting a lot of thought into this blog New Years’ resolution post. I was going to keep it in my draft for myself to look back on throughout the year but I figured I’d share it with everyone – who knows, we all might have some similar goals!

My main 3 things I plan on doing better this year!

  • I want to be better at keeping a content calendar and giving my post meaning! What I mean by this is – I can post a few times a week but I feel like half the time my post whether it be a blog or Instagram post doesn’t have a lot of purpose or meaning! I want to be sharing great finds, great products that I love, etc! I’m going to work on this by challenging myself to find something that I use daily or something that I really enjoy and start posting! I feel like that’s an easy goal to accomplish. Along the same lines of keeping a calendar, I want to plan better! I need to start planning for the MONTHS OUT not just days.
  • Find more brands to work with: Last year I didn’t put a lot of effort into my blog or my business, with COVID and some life events I just wasn’t motivated AND IT SHOWED! The previous year I had gone to blog conferences, done styled photoshoots, and started reaching out to brands, and in 2020 I did NONE of it! This year I am going full-blown blog business! I want to do this for years to come and if I don’t give my blog and brand love and continue with “farming” it, it’s not going to grow!
  • With the above being said – I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone say you should only have 1 stream of income. I know I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew to where my blog suffers but I’d like to have my blog and something else to hopefully generate enough income to supplement my 9 to 5 job! Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do [i’m a paralegal] but being able to make my own money without limitations would be great.
