OUR NEW FRONT PORCH!

*To start, let my explain the top Christmas picture…I know its not Christmas but this was the only picture I had of the old door handle and stained glass that USED to be our front doors. The ones below it are the transformation of the new door handle, lanterns and door mat!

Now that that is taken care of….let’s continue 🙂

So we bought our house at least 4 years ago and my boyfriend has always been a stickler for minimum EVERYTHING! We are literally the people who hide our paper towels in the cabinet so we don’t have anything out on our kitchen counter. So when I said I wanted to decorate the front porch, I thought I was going to get a big H*LL NO lol! To my surprise, he said if that’s what I wanted to spend my money on then go for it! HAHA! So, of course, I did.

I literally searched high and low for large lanterns to use from like wayfair.com to god knows where and then our family came and Randy’s sister was like “why don’t you look at Home Depot” and so I did and literally couldn’t be more happy with the ones I bought. When I was looking online I was about to spend AT LEAST $100 on 1 lantern and I bought all FOUR for $115.00! You literally can’t get any better. I loved these as soon as I saw them because of the finish – they look like they’ll be great year-round. I linked them put up top under the picture but I will link them here and here

Now, I also went back and forth with the candles that are inside of them as well because I didn’t know if I wanted real candles or not. I knew real candles are just not safe being left unattended as well as not reasonable because I wasn’t going to go out there and light them every night. So, with that being said, I went with the fake LED automatic ones. They are great because they are made out of real wax but you just put 2 AA batteries in those bad boys and they have a remote that you can turn them on and off and even set them to come on at certain times! So I have mine set to come on in the evenings for 2 hours and then they turn off and they literally have done it every night for the past 3 days! These candles are literally the greatest invention EVER!

For the fall I was thinking I would put some little pumpkins in each of the lanterns and the same for Christmas with some ornaments! I can’t take credit for that idea – Pinterest gave me the idea. Here is the link to a few of the pins that I have saved to try out.

With all that being said, I really enjoyed sprucing up our front porch! We had been going back and forth about possibly moving and now that I have a NEW porch, I don’t see the need to! HAHA! It’s amazing what a little TLC can do for your home.

I really love when I’m able to just spruce up a little area in the house because when I try to take a full room on, I just get lost and end up with something totally different than what I initially planned on doing LOL!

I still need to add a few things to the front porch but for now I’m still in love.
