This week has been so crazy! I love having a long holiday weekend but I feel like when you skip a Monday, then you come back to work on Tuesday like OMG I have a million things to get done then you blink and it’s already Friday LOL!! We also had a lot going on with Sophia at school because her last day is Friday, so we had graduation, field day, and all kinds of parties!! I really wanted to get this posted on Wednesday but I totally slacked off and it’s now Thursday and it won’t go out via email until Friday! Oh well, life happens!
Anyways, if you live in Florida, then you know its usually pretty hot, but recently it has been SUPER hot so I figured I would do the 5 essentials that are staples for me & my closet in this game called “beat the heat” LOL! Lately, you just walk outside and just bust out sweating, it’s crazy!
1. Summer Sundresses
I love sundresses because they are so versatile, I love being able to dress it up with a pair of wedges for a date night or throwing on a jean jacket and running out the door for a casual Friday at the office. Even the cute midi sundresses that are in style this summer are amazing options for just about anything! I’m linking a few that I’ve either bought or have my eye on!
2. Fedora Sun Hats
Fedora hats are my favorite accessory! I think I love them so much because unlike jewelry that can be annoying to take on and off, Fedora’s aren’t and they go with basically anything that you wear during the summer. I am linking the ones that I bought on Amazon because they are cheap and come in a pack of 2!
3. Breathable Pieces
The reason I say breathable pieces, or what I mean by breathable pieces is, you need tops and bottoms that aren’t going to be heavy or hot. I hate when you go outside and get hot then you feel trapped in your outfit, that is no life to live – haha! You need cute flowy tops that you can tie in the front or good pair of lightweight linen pants, I try to stay away from jeans all together during the summer months! 4. Cute Wedges
I feel like 4 is pretty self-explanatory but I have such a hard time finding a pair of wedges that you can wear both casual and dressy! I recently lost my favorite pair of wedges and about had a mental breakdown tearing apart our house trying to find them LOL! Come to find out Sophia was hoarding them in HER closet – it’s already started with her stealing my clothes! Anyway, during my freakout, I went searching online for a replacement pair and came up with a few pretty good options! I love wedges for the summer because they go with everything sundresses, linen pants, your bathing suit around the pool as well as shows off your fresh pedicure! These are the few that I had picked out but didn’t even up purchasing since I found mine – besides the last pair, those are in the above pictures. I love those! Does anyone have any other good suggestions?
5. Solid Color Bikini
I know that printed bikinis are super popular right now but I just still love my solid color bikini’s! I love to throw them on with a good pair of gold hoops, my sandals [or wedges] and head to the beach! The solid go-to color for me is either black or red, I feel like both of these are better colors for me because my darker hair color and plus once you get that good base coat for your tan going then, those colors make you look much darker LOL! I really want a neon solid color bikini to take on our cruise but I showed one to Sophia and she told me no – haha! I thought a 5-year-old would be super into a neon color but she was not feeling it for me so I guess I’ll just keep dreaming of a neon one for maybe next year.
